Trail running training

In this trail running course we are going to teach the most relevant content in terms of preparation and training in trail running. All this, based on the most current knowledge and scientific evidence on our sport, always trying to give a practical point of view, with real examples and from an applied point of view.

This certificate states that the student has passed all the exams and a specific course. The following information is included: student's full name, name of the course and name of the certifying organization.


  • Unit 1 - Concept and type of evidence

    - In this section we will address the description, the concept and the different tests that encompass our sport.

  • Unit 2 - Intensity and demand for competition

    - At this point we will analyze, from different studies as well as our own data, the intensity at which you compete in different modalities on the trail.

  • Unit 3 - Performance factors in trail running

    - We will analyze which performance factors have been found, from scientific research, as limiting and determinants of performance in trail running tests.

  • Unit 4 - Characterization and specific training contents

    - In this section we will describe in detail what specific aspects and contents to take into account when preparing a trail race, as well as the internal logic of our sport, which is essential to obtain a high degree of preparation. All of this, also paying special attention to the physiology of the four modes of locomotion present in the trail: running uphill, running on the flat, running down and walking.

  • Unit 5 - Training methodology

    - At this point we will analyze and describe methodological aspects to specifically meet the specific demands of our sport.

  • Unit 6 - Analysis and monitoring of intensity in trail running

    - Here we will present some analysis parameters of trail training and competitions, based on physiology and applying it to practice.

  • Unit 7 - Training load in trail running

    - Lastly, in this section we will analyze the most current quantification methods in endurance sports to, in a critical way, try to transfer it to our sport.
