Introduction to the molecular physiology of exercise

The exercise molecular physiology course explains the changes induced by physical exercise from a molecular perspective, but with an emphasis on sports practice. Molecular physiology allows us to understand the adaptations achieved by acute exercise or the adaptations induced by physical training. By identifying the mechanisms involved in each of the adaptations, the way how to potentiate these effects to improve the different physical qualities and sports performance will be addressed. An important emphasis will be to understand these molecular mechanisms to better intervene in athletes and people who seek to improve their health through exercise. Aspects of training, physiology and nutrition will be addressed, from a molecular perspective, but with a practical purpose in the different sports disciplines.

In all three talks, Dr. Zbinden addresses the Molecular Physiology of exercise from a practical point of view for sports performance and health.
